Your brain requires about 130g of glucose per day for *optimal* functioning. Can you live in ketosis? Sure. Is it a good idea? Absolutely not. Also keep in mind the type of fat plays a large role in health and disease risk. Increasing sources of saturated fat in the diet can contribute to CVD and atherosclerosis. As a nutrition professional, I wish this trend would go away. Eat your avocado and olive oils, nuts, etc. but don’t go overloading on cheese, butter and steak and expect to improve your health.
